Madrid
The region of Pozuelo de Alarcón has many exclusive residential areas. These include La Finca, Las Rozas, Majadahonda, El Escorial and Villanueva de la Cañada. The historical town hall is located in the centre, among a well-known church and library of Miguel de Cervantes. The urbanization of La Finca is very popular with tourists. It is a very picturesque space with lots of lakes and greenery, surrounded by luxury villas. There are bus links that run from Madrid city centre to Pozuelo de Alarcón. Pozuelo de Alarcon
Pozuelo is a town in the western Metropolitan area of Madrid. It is one of the most popular residential areas in Madrid and well-known for the high level of wealth. Houses for sale in Pozuelo are in high demand. There is also a large number of companies that have their headquarters in the area. The region is home to Pozuelo de Alarcón FC, where some famous footballers live in gated communities with heavy security. Here properties are mostly large, with styles ranging from traditional to very modern. The town is centre of the private university, Francisco de Vitoria. There is no metro in Pozuelo de Alarcón, however there is a local stopping train and buses to Madrid city.
Las Rozas
Las Rozas is a zone on the outskirts of Madrid. It is comprised of Las Rozas town and the beautiful residential areas, where single family homes can be found. There are also several golf clubs for sport lovers. It is a very active area, where there are activity centres for go-karting, paintballing and wall-climbing. Carlos Sainz Center Las Rozas has an indoor and outdoor karting track. There are also a number of extreme sportswear shops in the centre. The old church of San Miguel Arcángel sits next to Las Rozas' version of Plaza España. This is a small plaza with benches, parks and trees for visitors to relax and read during the daytime. To get to Las Rozas village from Madrid, you can either ride the local train or bus service.
Majadahonda
In the west of Madrid, Majadahonda has it all. It is a strong cultural scene with music and sports at its core, great shopping and dining, and very good transport links. Majadahonda to Madrid city centre is around a 30-minute drive. In the town, there is an excellent offer of apartments and penthouses, as well as nearby residential areas. In the south, sports lovers can find Las Rejas Golf Club. The region is also home to FC Rayo Majadahonda, a popular football club. Plaza 2 is the most popular indoor mall, with a range of Spanish and international shops.
El Escorial
Further west are the two districts of San Lorenzo de El Escorial and El Escorial. These are set in a background of lush mountains. The former is a UNESCO World Heritage site that has an impressive Renaissance palace, the Real Monasterio. Inside is the royal crypt, where famous Hispanic kings are buried, and a grand library. There are a number of other historic buildings, stone houses, small shops, and a great cultural and culinary scene. To get from Madrid to El Escorial, you can take the local Renfe train. North of the town is The Valley of the Fallen, a memorial in the hills to those killed during the Civil War. Both towns have several residential communities that offer a great quality of living. Popular choices include Hotel Tres Arcos and Exe Victoria Palace, which has a luxury 18th century interior. Tourists enjoy the camping resorts in El Escorial also, in the town or in the green mountains nearby. There is a demand for weddings in the country houses of El Escorial, given the beautiful scenery. You can take endless walks through the sculpted parks and gardens in the area. There is also a golf club for sport lovers, with impressive views of the monastery.
Villanueva de la Cañada
Villanueva de la Cañada is a region in the northwest of Madrid, whose central town is of the same name. It dates back to the 15th century AD and is built in beautiful white stone and wooden houses.
